"After the Race"
What is Dalaney Lee Mecham committed to championing the following if elected to City Council - Ward 4 "after the race?"

Open & Accessible Leadership – I’ll hold routine office hours and share my contact information publicly so you can always reach me.
A Voice for Everyone – City Council meetings shouldn’t be limited to those who can attend during the day. I’ll push for rotating meeting times so more residents can participate. I will always remember that I work for YOU.
Improve Parks & Recreation – Our community deserves more recreation options, including additional pickleball courts, fishing piers, skate parks, and disc golf. I’ll champion efforts to expand and enhance sidewalks and bike lanes for a safer, more accessible community. I’ll advocate for our beautiful beaches, green spaces, and tree-planting initiatives.
A Cleaner, More Beautiful City – I’ll ensure we reinstate the long-neglected Beautification Committee and address commercial dereliction. I will take pride in the City’s appearance and look for ways to improve and better maintain our public spaces. We need a real plan to address Pass Road as a major thoroughfare in our city, and I will lead the way.
Reduce Crime and Homelessness -One central solution to addressing our rising crime rates and homelessness is to remedy the widespread blight. We also need to keep and attract the best first responders who serve our community and deserve better pay and support.
Stronger Community Input – If you have an idea to improve our city, I want to hear it—and I want to collaborate to make it happen.
Smart, Responsible Budgeting - I’ll work to ensure tax dollars are spent wisely. I believe in cutting waste while improving essential services and infrastructure. I’ll ensure that our residential neighborhoods get the focus and investment from our taxes that they deserve. Like any household, I will work to adopt a master plan and a long term budget to proactively improve and replace our ageing infrastructure instead of piecemeal, short term repairs.
Promote the Arts - I’ll lead a citywide mural initiative, promote local artists and musicians, fight to bring back Sounds by the Sea, and encourage cultural events that bring our community together.
Fix Broken Bureaucracy - I’ll lead efforts to cut red tape in the building code office by improving staff training and education, streamlining applications, and reinstating the Construction Board of Appeals. The code office should work with you to achieve your building goals, not against you. I’ll push for clear code enforcement guidelines that prioritize property rights while focusing on the worst violations—the eyesores that lower property values and create safety hazards.
Transparency & Accountability - No backroom deals, just open and honest leadership that puts residents first. Before I vote on controversial matters, I will seek community input. I will also hold quarterly town hall meetings because I understand that I am accountable to each of you.
